My son, for a while, had one that served both purposes. He had a Mustang GT that he tricked out with nitrous and all the other toys. He had fun with it, but finally realized that having the same car for track and daily driving was not the best choice... especially since his insurance would not cover the car if/when it got trashed on the track.
He ended up purchasing a truck (Toyotoa Tacoma) but still used my 3/4 ton diesel Ford to pull his car to the track until he out-grew that pursuit.
One of the things that caused him to outgrow it was when I rode my GoldWing over to the track one night with him.. and then raced him in the 1/4 mile and beat him with a 103.7MPH top speed in the 1/4 mile (while running a car tire on the back and it being my 1st run and spinning on the start).... with an unmodified 1800CC touring bike.
