What benefits do forums get by providing services to other forums?

To hopefully empower the forum community as a whole and therefore empowering your own community to perform better in the long run. It is no secret that forums are facing numerous difficulties and most new forums will find themselves shut down relatively soon and even what seemed like infallible forums are now closing their doors.

One of the biggest problems is that even though the internet is larger and more resourceful than ever, it often tends to feel like it gets smaller every year as these mega corporations take over more and more space and the users focus less and less on the little sites.

At the end of the day you can choose to stand alone against the multi-billion dollar corporation or you can help each other out and work as a greater community to provide some chance that more will survive and those that survive will be better equipped and more prepared to handle the challenges ahead of them.
