I've noticed some serious bad attitude about SMF, even from forum owners who never bothered using it. And, I guess it's just personal preference. I love SMF, at least the newer version which is more stable than previous versions. But everytime I mention SMF, there is a lot of negativity that comes out about it from others. And, to me, it's not just SMF, it's my forum as it's based around SMF and I don't have plans right now to change/move my databases to any other software. Just wondering how you deal with negativity surrounding SMF (or any forum software you might love) so you can keep managing your community in the right way?
Are your members complaining? If yes, then you may need to switch softwares because they are the most important people. If it is non-essential people aka haters on af, then dont worry about it I use SMF and I love it. Way better than mybb and phpbb3 in my opinion. I use what I WANT and what my members want so don't let what negative things people say about SMF get you down
ROLMAO Sorry but no matter what forum software you use, you will find people who love it, and people who hate it, for one reason or another, I couldn't get on with Xenforo, it's good, but not for me, if you can afford it, the updates and the add ons, it's actually brilliant, but I prefer phpBB. Software is what you yourself make of it, by that I mean the theme, MODs ( add ons) etc. It's not the software that makes a forum successful, it's the amount of work you put in, and the quality of the members.
i dont hate smf it was my first forum softwared i used but its just old school i mean i would use mybb than smf now.People technology is changing thats why we have to look forward than staying stuck in past.
