What are the events that you've held/ planning to hold and how long is your usual gap between events? I've only done Signature of The Month so far. Will do a lucky draw soon. How about you guys?
We arrange a new contest every month on our forum. Other than that we arrange some small events on festivals like Christmas.
We have held an IPB license contest based on points, a christmas hide n' seek, a christmas logo contest and a few others in the past. I am looking at holding another soon, when revenue picks up again
We haven't held much in the way of contests but we have had our fair share of them. If I remember correctly we have held two posting contests (Three if you count the member set-up/Admin supported one) to give people some Paypal cash and VIP membership on the site but we're going to look at other ones at some point. Possibly a logo contest I think.
So far on the forum I own now we haven't bothered doing any contests as of yet, mainly because we are trying to find one that will work out great and not cause any kind of spam or pointless posting. I remember on a previous forum I owned we did all kinds of contests from posting contests to referral contests and they went really well. We did once try a find the presents contest around Christmas time on an old forum I ran which went OK but not as great as I would have liked (we hid pictures of presents in posts around the forum and when a member found one they had to PM a staff member with the link where they found it)
I did a posting contest once, it was an absolute fail. The prizes were going to be forum cash and no one even tried to win!
I know, right? But I kinda don't want to give away cash that I have earned posting on forums just to fund my own forum...I want to save it, if you know what I mean.
I just participate in a forum poster of the month, unfortunately i didn't not try my best. and lost the event
