He was invited, but did not attend I believe.

Hmm either way he did not go. For work buddies and two people who helped to found a company that is pretty strange.

Something must have happened between them both for Kier not to attend his wedding :bookworm:

For all of the people that are stating they feel cheated and/or wasted their money, just pass me your licences and I'll put it to good use then. On the serious side, all of this is hearsay until we hear from the Dev's whenever that may be.

The problem with situations like this is that the consumer is very often left in the dark, support goes, then people stop making MODs, eventually, people just move on, history is littered with Betamax Video, and Video, and Laser discs ets

    on an unrelated note

how do you get the link to have "was invited" and have it link to another page/site?

You use the url BBcode like this :

    Code:

You need to ask yourselves: is the platform GOOD? If you ask me, yes, it's the best for me. Can I work on it from now on? Yes, I can. I haven't used their support in months, all is working properly. Do I need new features? If so, I can hire someone to add them. A decent programmer can tweak ANY script, so, even if XF gets off the face of the earth, I don't care. I have an excellent platform so far and I can work from that.

I agree XenForo is a good forum software.. Possibly the best but when the developers have vanished and refuse to speak to ANYONE then there is a serious problem that puts doubt on the whole forum software. By being silent they are doing a lot of harm.

Ashley is suppose to be answering them in bulk, however that could be a few days from now or a few months.

Xenforo is so much better than the free software i'm using now. I've been stitching SMF back together for well over a year. And, i won't be buying Xenforo anytime soon, even though it's the best forum software available. Gotta get an Xbox 360 first and a few things done around the house. :p

But yeah, people complain too much. If they had to struggle with SMF for awhile, Xenforo would seem like the dream software.

I never struggled with SMF when i used it...i did struggle with xenforo trying to find add-ons for missing functionality in the software itself though.

As somone who's never used XenForo, what kind of feature are missing from it than you need add ons for? I haven't noticed many things that sites like Admin Forums lack...

one big feature is mass pm.
i have had to do a lot of maintenance for my site...upgrading to vps and some bugs needed to be taken care of that required my site to be down a few hours....

xenforo lacks a mass pm sender...i'd either

    a. make a post on the forum and pray everyone read it

    or
    b. if i want to send pm, i'd have to manually add each member to the pm/conversation.

xenforo DOES have a bulk email where i can send emails out to members but most members are likely to check their forum inbox before there email inbox.

anotther big feature of ipb that i love that xenforo lacks s admin restrctions. suppose i want to give my super moderators access to the admin panel...with ipb i can restrict them as much as i desire...with xenforo this functionality does exist but it is far more basic.

  19. forever young Member

yeah i had that on my xf site...but

    1. i have to pay(the ipb add on was free)

    2. if you sent a mass alert, there's a chance the alert could be overlooked especially if you had multiple alerts.

the mass private messaging feature of ipb works better so if i send a pm to all 1000 members of my site, it'll send them each and individual message and if they have questions they can always reply back.
