Looks pretty decent, however I have to say I don't particuarly like the header, it looks a bit of a mess with that advertisement in position. I suggest you put the advertisement down the side of the page.
The reports are very well written. The logo is very creative and it looks like a pretty fun blog. There is only one major problem, though. The activity. All would be running well, except there are no active members participating in your blog. I'd say, since you have money for buying your domain, to buy advertisements. Look for great deals online, like Google, they sell advertisements that paid only when people click on the link. I think that would be great, since if your ad doesn't get much people, you would be paying very little. I believe that it is about ten cents every time someone clicks on your advertisement. That is a great investment. The widgets really make themselves stand out. If you only have money for one more investment item, removing those ads should be your first priority. Your blog looks really nice, but the advertisements make it look bad, or at least move them to the footer. Also, the big home button that is on your homepage! I think it's very useless because your viewers are already on the homepage. I really like how you have interesting, large images, that are just the right size. So, overall, I'd give you a rating of 8.9/10.
