Oh noes!

You need 20 posts to be able to download resources, post links and other things. Read more...

Is there ever a time where you should stop adding new content to a forum you own or should you continue to add new discussions daily to the forum to help its growth? Some forums I have seen die out because the owner does not take an active role within their community.

What do you think.. should forum owners add new content even when their forum becomes large?

Never stop, post atleast 2 new topics a day. Works a treat!

Honestly, there is a point where one can sit back and let the forum be its own thing. You don't really see fowler or any of the other admins posting topics over @ FP. Why? Because they have members who do that. If the forum started to lose activity very quickly for some reason, I'm sure the content would just start coming from the Admins. However, when a forum is still young, it's important to keep a steady stream of activity up. Without it, a new forum is likely to close and die without much notice.

I try put as much new content on the forum as I can, and will never stop, till my fingers fall off anyway :p

You should never stop posting new content for your members, without your content what do they have to post on is the way that I see it!

Forums require an active staff team that participate around the forums and if that ever stops for any reason you should expect to see a decrease in member activity thats for sure.

i think it is important for staff to be active, sure, when the forum is active, it does not need constant admin attention, but its always good for staff to try and make a few posts per day to show they still care.

I disagree with people saying you need to keep adding content. You don't need to if your forum gets active enough. I, like everybody else, find forums in which there's only 1 admin who's posted basically everything in the site quite boring. It depends on what kind of content you're talking about.

Well, when your forums reach the point where you have enough members to add exciting stuff, you can ease up or slow down adding new content, but some new content from your side is necessary, be it little or more..

Agreed. When your forum starts looking after itself then you can slow down and let the community take over.

For living your forum Up you have to post atleast one or two post a day which shows more interest in blog lovers and visitors to love you blog more.
  17. just post something new every day.
but also you don't want to leave an impression like you're the only one posting at your forum.

Members like to see Admin active, promotion forums like FP are an exception to the rule
  19. I didn't think administrator's posts were so important but now I will post even more often.

For those saying that you should never stop posting content, you are thinking way too small. Look at the forum Hack Forums. It is one of the largest forums on the internet. It just recently passed Digital Point in size. The owner hardly posts, he doesn't need to and no one really cares. So yea, there is a point when you can. I wouldn't say should because it isn't a bad thing to continue but at a certain point it isn't bad to stop either.

I agree with xypher you should never stop posting even if the forums are populated by other members. If an admin or even the owner keeps regularly posting the members will have a high spirit of staying along with the community.
