Well from my expiriance as forum admin i would like to share a few tips on surviving in the forum industry.

    Number One

Treat your forum like a member of your family, never give up on it even when things get really tough. Fight for your forum (legally mind) and make sure nothing or nobody gets in the way of you running your forum successfully.

    Number Two
Be prepared, make sure you take regular backups of your database and site files preferably at least once a day just in case something happens, the future holds many mysteries and not all of them will be good.

    Number Three
Take screenshots of people who make threats and negative comments against you, there is alot of nasty people on the internet and in case the situation escalates into something larger you will have evidence to back up your side of the story should anything be taken to a court of law, it may not sound probable but again there is alot of nasty people out there and who knows what the future holds.

    Number Four
Save your words, a good way to keep an active flow of content on your site is to write threads up on your computer in notepad or whatever, when your site dies down and not many posts are being made just copy and paste your threads onto your forums and that will help your site to remain active throughout the day.

    Number Five
Smart Bumping, when bumping your advertisement threads try to give them more to read than just an update of stats. Tell them a little about new things on your forum, even post about interesting threads that have been made recently or add a few images to your post :)

I hope theese few quick tips will benift some people and help you in the large world of foruming, there are alot more things to add to this but im just keeping it short and sweet for now ;)

I like this quicks, it is not the rehearsed material advice you have read a lot lately and the tips are very useful.
Great tips. Number four is pretty good. Many times I get good threads idea when i am away from the computer doing something unusual.
Having a small notebook to draft thread titles is a very good idea, definitely I will combine this practice with the tip number four.

Thank you very much for sharing this with us.

I really like this tip! I think taking every precaution for legal issues is really the smart way to be. I mean most people think they wont be able to have a chance to conduct legal stuff but you really can and its good to have something to protect yourself with.

That is why I store all violating posts in a hidden staff forum so I have evidence and references for future events just in case.
