Admin Forums Medium Review:----------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------- ------------------- First Impressions: Pretty impressive theme, although it is greatly overused. Reasonable statistics but slightly unorganised. The background is a major turn off for me. It looks way too dark. The links at the top look plain in my opinion, adding a bit of styling to them would make it look much better. Active members, solid staff team. I would definitely register there, well done. (23/25) ----------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------- ------------------- Look and Feel: As I already mentioned, whilst the theme looks very nice, it is very overused on MyBB forums. I can see you have customised it a bit though, so good work on that. The banner looks good, but I don't like how you have the orange "Advertise Hotspot" banner next to it. It clashes with the orange. To smoothen out the contrast, I suggest placing it into a white container. The advertising links look to plain in my opinion. Adding some kind of bar would look a lot better, and the icons in the navigation menu look very pixelated. If you are going to change them, I would suggest the Fugue Icon Pack. I have already told you that the background is very off putting. Although the striped pattern looks good, the blue is way too bright. I suggest using either a lighter blue or a light grey instead. Would look much better in my opinion. Overall, very good job. Nice work! (17/25) ----------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------- ------------------- Organisation: As I said in the "first impressions" section, the organisation and forum layout isn't great. Having so many forums in one category seems boring to me. Of course everybody has their own opinions. Here is mine. "PromotionBB Extras" should be split up. "Marketplace" should have it's own category. As should "Managing Websites and Forums" and "Graphic Design and Programming". To me, it looks very squashed up having them all in one category. There should also be a "Seeking Employment" section in the job forum. I know that what I'm suggesting is pretty common, but in my opinion, they are absolutely essential. Something I noticed is that PBB has the same section that practically every forum has. I don't see any unique ideas, which is what you need to consider adding if you want to get a more popular userbase. It's decent, but it's not impressive. Sorry. (14/25) ----------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------- ------------------- Members and Staff: You have a good staff/user ratio. A couple of your staff members have an excellent amount of posts, however the rest... not so impressive. I suggest giving them a quick nag, urging them to post around a bit more. It is their duty as staff members, after all. Your members are generally active which is always a good thing. Obviously. 18 users online in the past 24 hours is quite impressive, but could be greatly improved. Your member/post count ratio is looking good too. Good job on this. There's always room for improvement though.
