Members who lie about their age/gender

What do you do when you find out that 16 year old girl next door type person is really a 65 year old guy from Texas with a beard bigger than Santa?

What would you do in such a situation?

banned them forum the website and report to authority!

I would ask if they really are Santa

Wells I don't know I haven't lied my age, I don't care if people know im quite young.

I don't mind what their age is. I will mind only if they lied about their skill.

Meh I wouldn't care, it's not my business, just as long as they're not molesting the members.

Report what to the authorities? Unless something bad happens then there isn't much you can do
other than ban them.

Why would you need to even ban them?

Depends. If they're just having fun and nothing questionable is going on, it's OK. Even if I don't see why someone would want to lie about themselves. If they try to pass as someone else to do any harm, then they'll get banned immediately. I have many teenagers in my communities, I wouldn't be happy to have an adult try to fool them with his age/gender.

If I make such a discovery only solution is to take it to flee very fast

I can see tons of reasons why people may lie about their age.

1. Joining a forum that is full of older people(Perhaps a mature forum about sexuality and the restriction of the age is 18 or older....so you lie and say you are older)

2. Joining a forum that is geared towards teens...maybe like a pokemon forum where most people there are 13-17...But you're 20 and lie you say you are 17

The list can go on past those 2 but i can see WHY someone does it(I've done it before) but like you said, if there is nothing questionable about it and it's harmless, so be it

I would give a temporary warning. It's not really good to lie about your age anyways.

I dont mind people lying about there age, people do it all the time, with fake ID's and watching 18's when you are actually 15 or so.

I think it would be quite difficult to find out if someone is being honest or telling complete porkies when it comes down to age and gender however if I ever did come across someone who I had some how found out was lying and they where a member on my forum it would depend on how severe the lying was. Such as the first poster stated if the person in question was a male alot older who had been lying about their age and gender then I would ban immediately and report to the authorities.

and again what exactly have they done about lying about their age that warrants the authorities?
Maybe banning as this is your choice but if the person simply just lied about their age/gender....i seriously doubt reporting to the authorities is going to do anything seeing as if there is nothing lewd going on, there's technically nothing to report
