Oh noes!

You need 20 posts to be able to download resources, post links and other things. Read more...

I usually either delete and warn, or edit (change the words around, etc.) and then warn.

This is just annoying. I would delete the post and warn them, I would also make sure they understand I don't allow copied content on my forum and if they liked the thread that much, they can re-write it in their own words.

I myself haven't come across any members myself doing this as of yet on the forum I currently run however on an older forum I had, I did have this problem with one member which I was not happy about. Usually when this happens I will send them a PM politely letting them know that if they wished to post something that they had seen on another forum would it be possible for them to post it in their own words rather than copying and pasting. Once I had sent the PM they seemed fine and didn't do it again.

i will delete his content and banned him temporary(1-2 week) , after he did it again i will banned him permanent and that's final order...

Hate them and will let them notify that they annoys me.

if it is own content, then often we ask them to repharse the threads before posting. If it is merely done to increase the posts, 1) Deletion of posts 2) Warning/Infraction for the first time and if it persists, then there is the permanent ban.

    Wait I am confused.

I cross post(Copy and paste) between forums all the time of things i've typed because i like to give more ideas and voices.

    That's fine, they're talking about cross-posting other people's content ;)

Google will pick it up, and only the earliest post will be trusted, google will discount the rest as plagiarised.

I almost always do this as a member. I either quote the snippet of the article, or just copy and paste it all. I then add a url to the website

  12. There is a simple way to know if the material is copied. Most times, a spammer (who is using software), will use the same discussions/responses from one forum to the next. It won't look like spam and might actually appear as a helpful post. I see these all the time on my forum. Take the signature line and run that in google (with quotes) and you should come up with a list of other forums where that person has posted. It won't take much to find out if even one post looks the same as what they're posting on your forum.

If the post is a duplicate, delete it. If it's not, just leave it, a few extra meaningful posts can't hurt. If the post is rubbish, also, delete it, off course.

Same here. I'll delete such posts definitely. I hate copy past from other sites.
  16. xunty Member

Warning first. Ban second. You don't need a forum cloning.
