I don't know if this is just me but I seem to work harder and faster ( ) when there is a nice chunk of money involved. I am not a selfish person and I didn't start making sites for the money but it just kinda came to me, you know? I sometimes neglect projects I know I should be finishing before I do anything else and work on projects as clients come in. I don't intend to do it like that but no matter what happens if a client offers a nice amount of money to something and fast it is done within a few hours wheras my own projects can take months to be completed. Is anyone else like this? Does money make you into a superhuman worker?
I wouldn't say it makes me a super human worker but it definitely gives me the motivation to do the jobs I need to do within the time range. If I was doing a job for myself and wasn't getting anything from it I would get it done eventually but I would probably but it off a few times before finally completing it whereas when I know I am getting paid for doing it, it pushes me to get it completed.
Money does sometimes get me motivated when I have the time. I find that I get things done a lot faster if it is for money though. Although, i'm not someone who just cancels all of my plans just to get this one thing done unless it is important like a real life job which generates a huge income. If I have the free time, I do like to work harder/faster for money.
I think even the possibility of money pushes me to work harder. Especially after having to live without a lot of extra money, when you get that possibility of having money you work that much harder. I know what its like not to have the money to do what I want so yes I would say that money does make you work more than almost anything else.
Well... for me, if someone 'sponsor' me for the work, it tends to finish quickly and yes, it motivates me that people are interested for my hard work
What else could be motivation, if not money . It's also good when you like what you do, but if you like what you do, and you're extra paid, that's a winning combination.
Well, as long as you're an adult and have a family to support, money IS important. If you have others to support you or just don't care about getting some money off your online work, then it's OK, but most of the time one needs to be paid to be able to work and not choose other more lucrative occupations.
Usually I work harder when I get paid, yeah. It's not like crazy hard working me, that's only when I'm in love with a design and running with an idea...that doesn't happen to often :3 On my personal projects that don't amount to much...well...let's just say they've been WIP for a while xD
