Can we have a short Bio?

Well, as many of you know allready, my name is John. I am 22 years old, and I live in California, USA. I used to be in the U.S. Air Force until I failed the asthma test after 6 months, and then I worked a low end fast food job for a couple of years. Since then, I have been working online to make my living, and have done a lot of freelance writing in the past.

What was the first site you ran?

Many of you probably started where I did if you have been around the forum world for a long time. I started out with at freeforums.org with a gaming forum. That was back when I did not even know about SEO or how to even submit my site to major search engines hardly. It is had to believe that is where I started, but I will never forget it.

Why Did you Decide to learn SEO ?

I decided that I was going to learn SEO when I really got into freelance writing a couple of years back. I wanted my site to be competitive with the other freelance writers that had sites up. So, I chose to learn as much as I could about how search engines work and how I could set my site up to succeed within those parameters. I also knew that if I could get really good with SEO, that people would pay big bucks for those kinds of services, and I knew that there was a future career in it for me if I could reach the next level.

How long did it take to perfect the "art" of SEO?

I don't think that any expert of SEO is going to tell you that they have perfected their tactics. The reason behind this is because search engines have teams of engineers that are alway figuring out ways that they can become a better search engine for the average user. That means that the SEO people out there are going to have to be able to adapt to whatever changes they make.

What is a common SEO mistake new site owners make?

One of the most common SEO mistakes that I see new site owners make is that they are not building quality content for their users. Building quality content is not only going to help each visitor to your site have a good experience, but it can also help you build backlinks. We all know that backlinks from other reputable sites to ours is what is going to have one of the largest impacts on our site. That, and on-page optimization, which I will get in to later. Linkbait is something that I talk about a lot, and it basically means putting something up on your site that is worth linking to. I have a general rule of thumb that I like to use when coming up with a blog post, forum topic, or whatever that I want someone to link back to. You should ask yourself these three questions:

-Would I link back to it?
-What makes it worth linking back to?
-Who am I trying to get to link back to it?

That will help you come up with content that is worth linking to, if you can decisively answer all 3 of those questions.

Do you have any SEO advice for new admins?

Take the time to set up your on-page stuff before you start link building. There is no point in building links if the search engines can not see your site correctly. Here are some tips to on-page optimization:

-Avoid duplicate content.
-Put the keyword that you are trying to rank for in your Title and Meta tags.
-If you are putting the keyword on your page once or twice, make sure it is atleast in a heading once. (i.e. in a <h1></h1> tag.
-Using javascript and fancy ajax scripts sounds like a good idea, but in all reality hurts the way search engines view your site. Keep it simple, and make sure your site can easily be navigated by a search engine or a user. You can still use them, just try and use them as little as possible.
-Integrate social media, it is a great way to stay on top of site reputation and bring in traffic at the same time.
-Take time to do keyword research, which if you Google that, you should find out all that you need to accomplish this. I would tell you how to do it, but then I would end up with an e-book. lol.

Do you have any hobbies?

When I am not playing around online with SEO, I am usually playing sports. I find that doing something outdoors is a great way to counter-balance spending so much time on the computer.

What do you think of Admin Forums?

I have always liked it here at AF, and I can not imagine why any forum owner would not be here trying to learn as much as they could about running a successful forum. Shady is a great example of what it takes to run a forum well, and every forum owner should not pass up the chance to pick his brain about topics like running a successful forum. That is part of the reason why I wanted to do this interview here, is because I like the culture here.

Fun Question:

Whats your favourite TV programme?

My two favorite shows would have to be CNN and Sports Center. I love to keep up with the latest news going on around the world and of course the sports news.

I have been browsing forums for years. .

I am not saying that is a bad thing that I have never heard of you though.

It’s the duty of SEO expert to use only quality content for clients sites because now search engine have brought new algorithms for searching like no backlinks from no follow sites but still I think they are useful for client’s keyword ranking. I will say no copy paste work just write your own content for better work.
