Oh noes!

You need 20 posts to be able to download resources, post links and other things. Read more...

I'm not really sure tbh.. We're opened, but just kinda getting started and iviting people little by little, so I'm not sure if we're officially launched or not lol

Less than 500 posts someone said!!

I was going to say at least 100 posts and at least 5 threads, but now that I think about it a forum would probably be more successful if it opened with 500 posts and at least 40 threads.

A couple hundred posts with at least 5 threads in every section and at least 10 threads in the most popular section which will be the main area of your forum. :)

I feel myself that a brand new forum should have atleast 3 - 5 threads in each forum before they open to the public however I also think that it makes a difference depending on what kind of genre of forum you run.

I would say for say a promotion forum a good set of threads with a few posts, posted by say staff members before launching is a good way to start that way any guests or new members you get have something to see that may interest them. I have been on so many forums that have just started out and only have around 20 posts and then it just seems to go dead.
  7. It's a big turn off to visit a forum that has nearly no discussions to start with. Sometimes, I wonder why the forum owner bothered opening the doors if there is nothing for the members to respond to. The better strategy is to post many new relevant discussions to start with and hire some professional writers to post other discussions. That makes the forum look busy for real members as they join.

I started off all of my forums off with 0. It really would not make any sense for me to build up all of these posts before I open, IMO.

thats interesting, why do you think it makes the most sense to open a forum with 0 posts?

have you had success with this in the past? how active is your biggest forum?

I agree with shadyx! 200post are enough in the beginning with few threads.
it's hard to post 500 at that moment, i've faced that moment :D
