Oh noes!

You need 20 posts to be able to download resources, post links and other things. Read more...

Well it happened to AF so im guessing it is pretty common and could happen to the best of us.

Has it ever happened to you and how did you deal with it and remove the malware?
  2. ShadyX Who else?

The events that have happened in the last 24 hours were a little less serious than malware actually being embedded in the forum, Our .htaccess files had code wrote into them that attempted to hijack our search engine traffic and redirect it to a malicious website. But yeah I overwrote all our .htaccess files with fresh ones and removed old/unused FTP accounts and made sure our new .htaccess files were not writable aswell as scanning the full hosting account for any viruses, shells etc; I deleted old files that were no longer any use to me as an outdated script could have caused the problem or an old comprimised FTP account.

The site where im a mod at did. It found out it was in the ad. So suggestion to all, host the ads from your own server and not from a 3rd party

Nope we have never been hacked but we have plenty of threats.

One time we thought we had malware, but it turns out it was a piece of code within one of my ads that was causing the issue. Other than that, nothing to report :)
  9. Nope never has happened but we have helped clients remove and clear up their websites.

I only ever give myself access to the forum files and template editing. In case Gamrpro gets a bit too excited one day and puts in bad stuff into the theme.

Once and it was due to MyBB's security breach :-\ It wasn't malware though, it was just redirecting to advertising/search type pages. Luckily I cleaned it but it took a long time to do it...

Yes, I had on a forum of mine. Fortunately my AVG caught it early and I was able to remove the javascript code that activated it for others.
