Has the hosting bug ever got you?

    My old host for my SMF forum is new(Started in Late feb), I joined last month and while the service was great, he has sold the host to another company and now i can't even log into client are or cpanel.

    THank god, I have moved to a new host and software but this has taught me to make sure i backup daily

    You only need to backup then you are safe.

    I use HawkHost for my forum and Empirehosings for my blog, they're both good and i trust the owners.

    I used Empirehosting and they were pretty decent. I am no longer with them now but they were a pretty decent company as well :)

    Only problems I have had was with free hosts I used, but when I buy hosting I make sure I buy it from a trustworthy place.

    Yeah when we were using jawshost (division of sharkhost) we had a lot of extended downtime that left our forum down more than when it was up. I lost a few hunderad dollars because of that.

    I haven't had any problems really with hosting (Mainly because I haven't ran that many forums) but the ones I have run I have always ran with reputable hosting providers. I just always took my back-ups like usual, went to support should I suspect stuff going wrong but that was about it. Had no real problems, just the odd piece of downtime which was very minimal though.

    Never. But my forum is small and I don't think it will be a victim of something like that. To be honest, I don't even know if size of the forum matters at all.
