I myself have had a couple of issues with hosting accounts in the past. One of my hosting counts I lost when the host suddenly disappeared and another when my hosts servers all caught fire. It seems I have been very unlucky when it comes to hosting, has this ever happened to you?

Well I try to stick to known hosts to make sure this kind of thing never happens :p

I have been lucky thus far my host is top of the line.

I have had this once or twice when I chose a crap provider. You learn from your mistakes and research them before buying.

no, i have never had a problem with any hosts i have used, but i always choose large, well known hosts to minimise the chance of it happening.

I like to host with Hostgator or Site5 because they barely EVER go down.

Nope, I do my research before selecting a host, and I pay on a month-to-month basis - for over one and a half years.
I keep track of my finances and have never been late with billing.

I always check up on them first too to make sure I never waste my money.
  9. Never had a host do that to us, but then again we host our own stuff lol

Thankfully never had this sort of problem

Yes, I joined a newly formed host and a couple months later the owner couldn't afford to pay for it. So he shut it down without giving a refund for that month's payment... I couldn't even get a transfer.

Nope, never had a situation where my hosts servers caught onfire. Nor did any of them close suddenly. I currently host on a host wich offer game server hosting. They are a pretty solid company and I trust them. Always go for a company that you trust ;) Do some history work on the company before you pay.

I actually saw a post on another forum where a host owner made a post to his customers saying he was sorry and couldn't face emailing them and that his host caught on fire. 99% of the time its bullshit, on that occasion I did smell something brown too. :poo:

Never had any issue with my hosting provider so far!!!

Lol I agree some hosts lie to their customers, I know one gamehost whose custom CP got hacked and well their servers were affected by this for some reason and they just closed without any refunds or even a notice. Not even the staff members were told why he closed the host.

He he, had the server I used 7 years ago get flooded, none yet caught fire :D

Had bad hosting all these years and had to change for quite few times. The solution would be to have my own hosting at home, but I don't have the time nor the willingness to pay this much. So we're relying on others

How did it get flooded? lol

I have never had anything like this happen to me thankfully and I hope I stay safe in the future.

Well, the 'data center' was a small office in a building. Basement level so to say. There was a huge rain in the city and the water literally flooded the 'basement' and the servers :D

Yes, usually when I'm on free hosting. I've completely cut off all free hosting now and only use paid. It is always more secure, safe and has much better support.

Over the years I've had a range of services from a variety of web hosts be it from Shared Hosting & ShoutCAST Servers to Dedicated Servers & Game Servers. I have spent many a time searching for a host that I know is reliable & trustworth and have found many that have failed my expectations. I have since found a reputable host and have started renting dedicated servers to give me complete control over my hosting.
