I have a new forum which i have build & its all ready to be launched. Do you think i should get staff such as mods, reviewers, etc.. in before i launch it or i should wait until it picks ups later? Like, get everything ready before the launch or what? What do you think? What did you do?
See if you can handle it alone for a while, maybe you can work on contents, marketing, etc., before you bring in staff. If you have around 100 members at least, it would be worth to get in staff, who may add value to the forum.
I'd always go solo until you need others - then you know stuff is being done the way you want it to be.
I would find at least one person to help you by making posts and to help make sure the forum doesn't get spammed, since it will be brand new. You should have a co-owner, someone who can help run the site, promote the site, and participate in discussions.
yes, +1 to gktime, it is always good to have a partner and a group of forum posters, who can contribute contents to your forum. advertisers would be interested only if you have enough traffic and activity in your forum.
Find a staff member or two before you open to help you get the base activity while you are waiting for the for members to find you, start posting etc; Don't overdo it though
You don't need staff to start, you need editors to help with the content. I have been running my forums for 8 months now and don't need anyone as moderator. I do all the admining myself and we're doing great. Having more people means more work, since you need to manage them and always make sure they do a great job. As long as you can do it on your own, you're less likely to have too much trouble
Always appoint them later. To be honest, you don't really need too much stuff at the beginning of any forum. D:
