I have just finished Forum Start - A Guide for New Forum Admins, a book I've secretly worked on for a while. It's a FREE ebook (.pdf) that you can read to find some 'tricks' for starting a new community. This year it's been a decade since I started my first forum, I've been involved with administration and moderating some big 'names' for all this time. As you can imagine, I've done a lot of stupid things in 10 years and fortunately learnt my lesson. Have tried to put in the book most of the things I am currently applying, stuff I was able to learn by doing the previously mentioned mistakes. I really hope it will help you guys, the ones who are looking at the idea to become a forum admin and the ones who are still trying to get some experience. It's not a 'proper' book, it's more of a collection of my thoughts and ideas. I have no claims that it's gonna change your world, but it will surely help you a little. It needs more polishing (especially since English is not the 'official language' for me), but wanted to release this first 'edition' ASAP. Would love to know if it's helpful for you. Thank you for taking the time to read it.
