A lot of people just like to come on to forums to post, but I'm curious, what would be an awesome way to encourage them to make threads instead? This gives you a lot more content and makes your forum seem so much more alive!

Well the more threads are opened the more people will find out that they can start their own conversations. :D

well, i go first in making informative thread starters.. for content of course.. then you can go with Q&A threads.

Most of the members I have active now already make threads on their own, so I'm not sure how you would go about making them do more. Perhaps offer some sort of incentive for a while like a limited promotion of some sort.

I stay out of my members way. Seriously.... I find the more I try to encourage, the less happens. So I step back and let them go at it and that seems to work.

Of course this varies depending on which site I'm on.
