Have you ever thought about creating a string of forums and building them up just to sell them when they get to a reasonable size? I could see it being quite profitable if it worked out okay. What do you think? Is it a good idea?
I think it's a good idea if you have the know-how and the experience doing so. If you do start doing it, start small, and then increase the number of forums you own and maintain. Also, it helps if you have a large and active community already established somewhere, that way you can promote the forums there.
actually it better not to sell the forum's instead work on it make it more bigger. because you can earn better with it selling it wont be profitable.
I have sold 2 forums last year. I don't create them to be flipped, they were forums I no longer had the time to work on anymore. My ideal would be to get one to earn me a very decent revenue, so that I can only run it and not need to work anymore
I personally think this is an extremely insensitive and immature way to run forums. You just build up this community(the way it's supposed to run), and then you pawn it off to some second-rate admin for a small profit without a care in the world! Personally, if I built up a forum with my blood sweat and tears, I'd at least want to see it go to someone who could handle it, and that's if I ever even thought about selling it.
It's an idea I have thought of a few times to be honest and if you had really good url's and great names for them with plenty of content it would definitely work out. At the moment I don't currently have the time to do this with me running a forum already and moderating on a few it can mount up on time. It is something I would consider later on though if I knew I had the time to build it up
yes, it is a good idea, but why would someone want to build the forum and sell it. Isnt it a golden duck
