Do you guys think it would be helpful or harmful if someone ran a blog and also had a forum where members could post their own threads? I have a soccer blog and am thinking of adding a soccer forum to it to gain more members...but I don't know if that would work or if it would be just a waste of time... What do you think?
I don't know. Maybe you should make them as separate stuff. It would be different if you posted only general soccer news, but if you post your own opinion than I don't know...
i say you go with making that blog.. but only make that blog for the purpose of seo and inviting more forum user... you can funnel the traffic generated by that blog into your forum if its successful.. for me, a blog with a forum does not affect the forum's activity.
