A good question.

Every single day I am on the web trying to build traffic and its a slow ongoing process. What do you guys do to keep from getting discouraged? One day I may have 100+ unique and the very next day I only have 6 unique.

It absolutely makes no sense and its very discouraging when only get 6 unique when I have been promoting my website all night.

The first thing I look in the morning is the alexa rank and that gives me a lot of motivation. Also I carefully follow the latest trends and utilize the social networking tools for increasing traffic.

I think I need to learn more about the Alexa rank.

To keep from getting discouraged I just remind myself that I know one day I will get traffic, and try to focus on the reason why I am blogging.

I think on the bright side. Twitter started off with a couple of members, so did Facebook. Look at them now! I put all my effort in to promoting and you just need to wait and be patient. If you have no patience, why bother? You cannot post a thread and 2 minutes later expect 100 members because unless a couple of hundred people saw it in two minutes, it isn't going to happen. It might even take a year to take off, but just imagine a very successful forum!

But what if it has been a year and the site doesn't take off? Should you quit then? I know I need to stop getting discouraged too, but feel like I would be wasting my time if I didn't get any traffic at all in one year.

I know this feeling only too well, it can be frustrating but what you have to do is sit and think I just have to keep going, it is a very long process and can make you think you are getting nowhere but really you are doing. The more promoting you do the more backlinks you get which all mount up.

I love to check my alexa rank as I find that really motivates me, if you see changes in that you know things are working. Using tools to help with SEO and meta tags and such I also find is a great way to keep you motivated. I know you can find websites out there that help with what meta tags to use which I have found works really well.

if you want more unique views ,push your content and advertise all the time keep harder and being focus on your site and you will suceed!
