I send them a reminder email and if they still dont post after a while, yes i would delete them.

Why would you delete them?

I see quite a few people who lurk on forums and have 0 posts but they still are real people.. I think people are just worried about the member/post ratio which they shouldn't be.

If they are inactive and they have no posts, i cant see what use they have..
Because if they are inactive, they cant be doing much on your forum unless they are a guest, in that case you may as well still delete the member account & the most they can do as a guest is view stuff. If there post count is 0 then they havent contributed at all & you will lose no content by deleting them either.

That's how I like to go about it :)
I can't really be minded to take the time out of my day to deal with someone else's laziness; I'd rather just let it be.

Just send out a reminder email after say, six months, so if they did have interest before but just forgot they'll be reminded and hopefully come back to post. I agree on that some are human spammers that register and will return later to spam the boards.

I normally can't be bothered to delete them, but I think now I would delete them if inactive after a few months, I'd probably used the auto-prune thingy, but always check that they don't come online first, just cause they don't post doesn't mean they are inactive ;)

    I agree with Waltson.

You should contact them after six months if they have never posted. If they do not respond within a month or two, then delete them.

I would delete if a member has 0 posts and hasn't signed in for 6 months. However, it would be better to send an email to inactive members and if they don't login in after that then delete the user account.

I think an automatic auto-delete is a great idea. A lot of these members are only joining to get profile backlinks...

Once every month you should set it to delete the 0 posters to get rid of that sort of spam.

I usually delete all who have 0 post count and 3 months inactive.

I delete them after a couple months if they haven't even logged in much. They're either there as one of those sleeping spam bots or a lurker who is there just for your content. Either way, they annoy me and make my member list look bad so they get purged by me after 3 or so months.

I wouldn't delete any of my members, even if they do have 0 post count for a year. They may come back, you never know.

Delete them, they can be dangerous for the site, hacks or bots are everywhere!! They can destroy your forum or duplicate it easily somewhere in the net!

i just keep them until the forums becomes bigger thats the only thing you can do as people see more members in the more the join;)

I don't see the point in deleting them; whilst members with posts look bad, they may well have just hit a busy patch and plan to come back. You don't lose that much by keeping them on.

    I will delete it...
  19. ShadyX Who else?

I don't delete them, for one there isn't anything that does this on XF yet and for two I wouldn't want to delete any members anyways. I was recently deleted from a forum for not posting in 30 days, deleting me is not going to make me want to go back and post again, I will never visit that forum again now that they did that.

I myself have a few members that have 0 post count and haven't been back on for a while. We do sometimes send out a reminder email to members letting them know about new things going on and how we are doing but I can honestly say that I have never deleted members with 0 post count. You never know when they may come back or if they will.
